What does my auto insurance policy cover?
When you buy car insurance, you are buying what is called a policy. Your policy is based on a variety of factors including what kind of car you drive as well as what kind of insurance you would like to purchase. Auto insurance policies are actually a package of different types of insurance coverage.
The first step in understanding an auto insurance policy is to learn the various types of coverage insurance companies offer. Some of this coverage may be required by your state, and some of the coverage may be optional. Your insurance agent will assist you with your auto insurance coverage.
What is GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection)?
Imagine that your vehicle was a total loss due to an accident or theft. You know you can count on your auto insurance to pay the claim. Most insurance companies, however, will only pay the actual cash or market value of the vehicle. You are responsible for any shortage between the insurance payment and the amount you owe on the vehicle. You can avoid this disappointment by enrolling in GAP protection at a low cost to protect your vehicle purchase. It may even pay your auto insurance deductible.
What is an Extended Warranty or Vehicle Service Contract?
If you're faced with a vehicle breakdown, do you have the money set aside to cover the costs?
We highly recommend purchasing a vehicle service contract. Our extended warranties cover parts and labor during the term of your contract. Be sure to talk to your sales representative about the right service contract for you! Visit our home page for examples of services covered by vehicle service contracts.
What if I am having an emergency?
An emergency is defined as your car has broken down and is not drivable. If you are still within your 30 day warranty period, then you may take your vehicle to one of our approved service and repair sites after contacting our office. If the 30 day warranty period has already expired, and you have not purchased an extended warranty, you will be responsible for the repair bill.
NOTE: Your car is your investment, and proper maintenance will ensure that your vehicle will always keep you safe and ready for travel! If you allow your car to run out of gas, you will be held responsible for any service fees assessed. It is your responsibility to maintain your vehicle by purchasing gas when your tank is low, getting your oil changed every 3,000 miles, purchasing new tires once the tread has worn down to less than 1/4 inch, replacing windshield wipers, and washer fluids, etc. as needed.
Am I able to exchange vehicles after delivery?
No. You should research and test drive all cars before making a decision to enter a contract for vehicle purchase. Because the vehicles are registered in your name through the state, you cannot choose another vehicle after purchase. The only exception would be if you would like to purchase another car as part of a trade-in option. Please note additional fees and any difference in fair market value and amount owed on the loan would be assessed.
